Introduction of IRAM certification in Argentina
 

Argentina IRAM was established in 1935 as a non-profit private association. It serves as a national standard organization in Argentina and also carries out independent certification services. The Argentina certification system is based primarily on the Resolution92/98 enacted in 1998, and regulations, from December 31, 2002, all products within the specified range must be approved by the Argentina accreditation organization (OAA) certification bodies to complete the inspection and certification.
 
The Manufacturers on the product to affix the Argentina S logo can indicate that products are recognized. The Argentina S logo is mainly based on national IRMA standard or IEC standard. In fact, most of the IRMA standards are based on the IEC standard.
 
The Resolution 92/98 is implemented by stage and contains a wide range of product and safety standards.
IRAM is the representative of the Argentina in the following organizations:

0p0damn - mercosur Standards Institute
COPANT - PAN - American Technical Standards Committee
And manages the Argentina Electronic Technology Association and the IEC National Committee of Argentina
IRAM Mark
IRAM has been a certification body since 60s and is currently certified for products in the following areas:
* Electronic Technology
* machinery
* chemistry
* sanitation
* safety and protection
* toys
* gas
* lifting machinery
* food
* medicine and so on, and quality and environment management systems.
 
It is a CB (certification body) of electronic technology products approved by OAA (Argentina), is also recognized by the government compulsory certification products certification body. It is also a CB (certification body) of the quality and environment management system recognized by OAA (Argentina), INN (Chile) and INMETRO (Brazil), and is a member of I-Qnet
 
Before the approval of the certificate, a "pre issue factory inspection" is required. Once the certificate is approved, further factory inspections will be required.
 
IRAM takes effect after the holder has paid the certification fee, unless it does not conform to certain contractual or certification marks, or the holder's own requirements, the IRAM will be revoked.
