KC certification for lithium batteries
 

The South Korea KC logo regulation products are incorporated into rechargeable lithium batteries
The KATS (Korean Agency for Technology and Standards) announced the two standard portable lithium batteries and lithium batteries for: Self-Regulatory Safety Confirmation, Annex 05，And put the products into the KC certification system under the self proclaimed product category, It was officially implemented in July 1, 2009.
Self-Regulatory Safety Confirmation, Annex 05 standard covers Battery Pack and Battery Cell, The required test items are approximately IEC 62133 standards, including: High Temperature Storage, Temperature Cycling Test, External Short Circuit Test, Crushing of Cells, Cell Protection Against a High Charging Rate and Thermal Abuse Test.
At present, portable twice lithium batteries and lithium batteries testing must be performed by authorized laboratory in South Korea, cannot transfer with the CB report of IEC 62133. The product will issue the Confirmation Letter of Declaration which valid for 5 years after evaluation. No factory inspection is necessary during the period.
since January 1, 2009, MKE (Ministry of Knowledge Economy) let the 13 certification mark, such as eK, KCC, KPS and other unified to be the KC logo, to be used as a national certification mark of the country. The transition period between the old and new signs is June 30, 2011.
