Introduction of SASO certification
 

SASO is the abbreviation of Saudi Arabian Standards Organization in English, that is the Saudi Arabian Standards organization.
 
SASO is responsible for setting national standards for all commodities and products, the standards also involve measurement, system, identification, etc.. In fact, many of the SASO standards are based on safety standards of international organizations such as the International Electro technical Commission (IEC). Like many other countries, Saudi Arabia has added a number of special items to its standards according to the civil and industrial voltages, geographical and climatic conditions, ethnic and religious customs of their own countries. To achieve the goal of protecting consumers, the SASO standard is not only for products imported from abroad, but also for products produced locally in Saudi Arabia.
 
The Ministry of industry and Commerce of Saudi Arabia and the SASO require that all products contained in the SASO certification standards have SASO certification when entering the Saudi customs. Products without SASO certificates will be refused entry at the Saudi port customs.
 
The ICCP program provides three ways for exporters or manufacturers to obtain CoC certificates, Customers can choose the most suitable way according to the nature of their products, the level of conformity, and the frequency of shipments. The CoC certificate is issued by the SASO authorized SASO Country Office (SCO) or by the PAI authorized PAI Country Office (PCO)
 
Route 1: Pre-shipment Compliance Verification
This method is best suited the exporter or manufacturer who consignment less. Before shipment, you must apply for pre shipment inspection (PSI) and pre shipment test (PST). When both tests pass, you can gain the CoC certificate.
 
Route 2: registration and pre shipment inspection
This method is suitable for the vast majority of customers, it has the advantage that each shipment inspection (PSI) is necessary, but there is no need to make a pre shipment test (PST) for each shipment. Consumer can gain the statement for registration (sfr) though submit standard declaration, provide test reports in line with imported countries and relevant international or domestic standards, and affirmed that the product has met the basic requirements of importing countries and national differences.
 
Route 3: Type Approval Licensing
This method saves either inspection fees or test fees before each shipment, can simplifies repeated the application procedures and guaranteed delivery time, Therefore, it was like use in large companies which a part of the shipment more frequently or larger and pay attention to quality and reputation. The exporter or manufacturer's products want to obtain the Statement for License (SfL) certificate that they need in conformity with the mandatory standards of the import and export countries. The certificate is valid for one year, before the expiration date, it is necessary to submit an updated factory inspection report and pay the annual fee, and can be renewed after the RLC review. Products with SfL certificates are no longer required for pre shipment inspection (PSI), and reduced sampling times in a year usually 2-3 times per year, according to the product condition and decide).
 
The inspection cost calculation method of Route 1 and 2 before shipment:
1. FOB ship inspection fee in US$3001-60000: US$300
2, FOB in the US$60001-200000 the ship inspection fee is: 0.5% of FOB
3, FOB in the US$200001-1000000 the ship inspection fee is: US$1000+ (FOB-US$200000) X0.4%
4, FOB above in US$1000001, the ship inspection fee is: US$4200+ (FOB-US$1000000) X0.15%
