The factory review of CSA certified
 

1.    the purpose of factory inspection
a.    Does the CSA logo appear on the CSA certified product only?
b.    Does the factory maintain its ability to produce CSA products in accordance with the requirements of the CSA certification report and some relevant standards?
c.     Does the factory receive the effective CSA assistance?
d.    Does the factory receive the notification of the latest procedures and the effective date?
e.    Whether the nonconformity found in the last inspection has been corrected.
f.      When the factory has the production of CSA certified products, the CSA related terms and agreements were implemented?
2.         Frequency of factory inspection
For factories that use only CSA signs, there are two non annual factory inspections are required for inspection each year.
For factories that use CSA/CUS or CSA/NRTL flags, there are four non annual factory inspections are required annually.
3.         The factory inspection content
The factory shall provide two factory contacts, and be responsible for escorting and assisting the CSA inspector in the factory inspection. The inspection content mainly includes five aspects: management aspect, technical aspect, product aspect, production test aspect and sampling aspect , as follows:
1.         Management aspects:
a.          Confirm the change of applicant, factory (name and address) and contact person;
b.         Confirm whether the certification record has been changed, and cancel the CSA certification products are implemented or not.
c.          Discuss the CSA certification services and related issues with the factory representative;
d.         For the Label Service factory, count the remaining CSA tags and the serial number of the factory;
e.         For the Label Licensing factory, check that the usage of the factory record label is correct or not, report the label usage to CSA correctly.
f.           dealing with the Standby factory and the related affairs of 6336 process in the factory;
g.         Help the factory to cancel the documents and change the data.
2.         Technical aspects:
a.         Discuss the technical issues related to CSA certification reports with factory representatives;
b.         Discuss the latest certification Notices、Electrical Bulletins、Informs and Field Actions with the factory representative, and confirm whether the latest requirements of CSA have been implemented;
c.          Discuss the technical problems identified in the last inspection with the representative of the factory, and make sure that the solution has been implemented.
3.         Product aspects:
According to the CSA certification report and standards, to inspect the factory for the CSA products, semi-finished products, related components and similar products, specifically need to confirm the following content:
a.    Are the components and materials consistent with certification reports?
b.    Does the product structure comply with relevant standards?
c.     Material proof and certification materials for components and materials;
d.    Are the components and materials used in compliance with in the requirements?
e.    Does the use of the CSA mark, the use manual and the use of the packing mark comply with the requirements of the certification report?
f.      Does it conform to the latest Field Service Action requirements?
g.    Does it meet some additional requirements?
The other: CSA inspectors will arrive at all CSA production areas, to determine the existence of CSA products without illegal production.
4.         production test:
a.    Check the production line and warehouse, to make sure that the CSA flag appears only on the product that has been certified by CSA or not.
b.    Confirm the ability of the factory to carry out the CSA plant test and the calibration of the test equipment;
c.     Check the factory's control procedures for nonconforming products and their actual operation;
d.    Perform on-site testing of certain products, such as wires and protective footwear
5.         Sampling aspects:
For some products, Such as: wire, Christmas lights, protective shoes, etc. CSA inspectors will do the sample and seal of CSA products at the plant site, and send samples to the CSA headquarters for retesting once a year.
