Luminescence principle:
The terminal voltage of PN junction forms a certain barrier. When the forward bias voltage is applied, the barrier decreases and most carriers in P and N regions diffuse to each other. The load characteristics of current-controlled devices are similar to the UI curve of PN junction. With the increase of current, the luminous brightness increases approximately. In addition, the luminous brightness is also related to the ambient temperature. When the ambient temperature is high, the composite efficiency decreases and the luminous intensity decreases.
 
Thermal characteristics:
At low current, the temperature rise of LED is not obvious. If the ambient temperature is high, the main wavelength of the LED will shift red, the brightness will decrease, and the uniformity and consistency of the luminescence will become worse. Especially, the temperature rise of lattice and large display screen has more significant influence on the reliability and stability of LED. So heat dissipation design is very important.
Life:
Long-term work of LED will cause light aging, especially for high-power LED, the problem of light aging is more serious.In measuring the life of the LED, it is not enough to use the damage of the lamp as the end point of the life of the LED. It is more meaningful to use the percentage of the light attenuation of the LED to determine the life of the LED, such as 35%.

Characteristics of ordinary fluorescent lamps
There is a filament at each end of the ordinary fluorescent lamp. The tube is filled with trace argon and thin mercury vapor. The inner wall of the tube is coated with fluorescent powder. When the gas between the two filaments conducts electricity, it emits ultraviolet rays, which makes the fluorescent powder emit soft visible light.The working characteristics of ordinary fluorescent lamp: when the lamp is ignited, a high voltage is needed, and only a small current is allowed to pass when the normal light is emitted. At this time, the voltage at both ends of the lamp is lower than the power supply voltage.
The ordinary fluorescent lamp tube is equipped with filaments at both ends. The inner wall of the glass tube is coated with a uniform thin fluorescent powder. After the tube is pumped into a vacuum of 10-3-10-4 mm mercury column, a small amount of inert gas is filled into the tube, and a small amount of liquid mercury is injected at the same time. Inductive ballast is an inductance coil with iron core.
