These contractors are required to write down their own internal test procedures before performing tests that do not conflict with OVSC laboratory test procedures. It is the contractor's responsibility to ensure that all tolerances are maintained within the specified limits. Unless otherwise stated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), test equipment must be tested every 6 months.

 

Laboratory testing is monitored by OVSC safety engineers, who conduct periodic inspections to ensure that correct test procedures are carried out and to reverify the accuracy of recent test results. This includes checking in the appropriate place the required instrument for use, function, and calibration data within the most recent specifications.
