Difference between NOM mark and NMX mark
First: Require programs to be different
The Normas Oficiales Mexicanas (NOM) mark is a mandatory safety mark in Mexico to indicate that a product complies with the relevant NOM standard. The NMX (Normas Mexicanas) standard is voluntary.
Second: different products
The NOM mark applies to a wide range of products, including telecommunications and information technology equipment, household electrical appliances, lamps and other products with potential health and safety hazards. Both locally manufactured and imported products in Mexico must comply with the relevant NOM standards and product labeling requirements. NMX is widely used in parts such as conductors, fuses, cut-outs, lamp holders and ballasts for manufacturers to use as reference; However, when an NMX requirement becomes a reference to the NOM standard, the NMX requirement becomes a mandatory standard.
