Korea EK certification
 

EK certification, the type certification system regulated by the Korean government, has been replaced by a new safety certification system, which is undertaken by several private enterprises, they are KTL, KETI, ESAK, the newly revised Electrical Safety Code ACT 6019 promulgated on September 7, 1999. The newly revised Electrical Safety regulations have made improvements in strengthening safety controls in the production and use of electrical appliances, and have also made safety standards more international, so that they can be recognized by many countries in the future. The new electrical safety regulations came into effect on July 1, 2000.

 

Korea's product regulations are similar to those in Europe. Korean safety signs are based on Korean safety regulations. This law was amended on 1 July 2000. There are four main corrections:

 

1. Korean safety regulations divide electronic products into two categories: mandatory products that must be affixed with the EK- mark and non-mandatory products that must be affixed with the K- mark.

 

2, the first factory inspection and annual factory inspection, including factories outside Korea is mandatory.

 

3. Korea's electronic security standards are harmonized with IEC standards.

 

4. Only the manufacturer can be a licensee.

 

Technical information: The voltage in Korea is AC110V,220V/60Hz, and the plug in Korea is divided into grounded ClassI and ungrounded ClassII.

 

Certification: The holder must be the manufacturer. The EK-Mark label must be marked on the product label. The EK-Mark must also indicate the issuing unit (e.g. KTL) and the certificate serial number (e.g. SD10031-0013).

 

File requirements

 

1, safety test CB report plus certificate and contain the test report stipulated in South Korea.

 

2, need to attach additional files

 

(1) Application form;

 

(2) Factory questionnaire;

 

(3) EMC test report;

 

⑷ Korean labels;

 

(5) Product technical documents in English;

 

(6) Circuit diagram, parts list, PCB wiring diagram, etc.;

 

⑺ Product photos;

 

⑻ User manual in Korean;

 

(9) Basic data of legal agents in South Korea;

 

Factory inspection

Once the documentation is complete, the first factory inspection will take place. The interval between the first factory inspection and the annual factory inspection is in accordance with the Korean Safety Mark regulations. In general, the inspection is once a year.

 

Test sample

It is not necessary to provide test samples (but must hold CB report + including country difference +EMC report).
