Detection service / Eco-design requirements for external power supply no-load power consumption and average work efficiency -ERP Directive,ERP certification

October 17, 2008, the Committee on the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling of Energy-using Products, The Committee on the EcoDesign and Energy Labelling of Energy- Using Products, EELEP published the draft implementation measures for External Power Supplies (EPS) at the third meeting of the ErP Directive. The draft implementation measures will replace the relevant information from the working session of the Fourth Advisory Forum held on 22 February 2008.
Draft implementation Measures for eco-design requirements on no-load power Consumption and average Working Efficiency of external Power Supplies.
      The draft external power supply implementation measures have a total of 10 articles and 3 annexes, which specify the scope of application of external power supplies, ecological design requirements, conformity assessment and verification procedures. The product range does not include voltage converters, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), power chargers, halogen lamp inverters, external power supplies for medical devices, after-sales service or spare parts of the same external power supply. -- -- -- < / font > < strong > < a href = "http://www.globalgd.com/" > ETL certification < / a > < / strong > < br / >       The eco-design of the external power supply requires two stages to achieve the energy efficiency performance of the product, including the power consumption in the no-load state and the average efficiency in the working state. The first phase of the energy efficiency requirements are consistent with the mandatory requirements in the United States since July 2008, and the second phase of the requirements are coordinated with the new U.S. Energy STAR version 2.0 standard for external power supplies. The specific limits are as follows:

1. Phase I: 1 year after the implementation measures take effect
      (1) No-load state
      Energy Efficiency < 0.5W
      (2) Average active efficiency
Products below 1 W, average working efficiency ³ 0.5*Po;
1 W ~ 51 W products, average working efficiency ³ 0.09*ln(Po)+0.5;
Products above 51 W, average working efficiency ³ 0.85.

2. Second stage: 2 years after the implementation measures come into effect
      (1) The energy efficiency under no-load condition should be less than the following limits:
Nominal output power Po
(W) AC-AC external power supply
(Except low-voltage external power supply) AC-DC external power supply
(Except low voltage external power supply) Low voltage external power supply
Po£ 51 W0.5W0.3W0.3W
Po > 51 W0.5 W0.5W None

  (2) The average working efficiency should be less than the following limits:
Nominal output power Po
(W) AC-AC and AC-DC external power supply
(Except low voltage external power supply) Low voltage external power supply
Po£ 1 W0.480*Po + 0.1400.497*Po + 0.067
1 W < Po £ 51 W0.063 * ln (Po) + 0.6220.075 * ln (Po) + 0.561 < br / > Po > 51 W0.8700.860

      On 7 April 2009, the Commission published in its official journal OJ L 93, pages 3 to 10, Commission Regulation (EC) No 278/2009, implementing Directive 2005/32/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on ecodesign requirements for electrical energy consumption and average work efficiency under no-load conditions of external power sources. The regulation will come into force on the 20th day of publication in the OJ. This marks the official enactment of the draft implementation measures into law.
