What is REACH Certification?
REACH certification is Regulation (EC) NO 1907/2006 of the European parliament and of the council of 18 December 2006 concerning the European Parliament Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH), establishing a European Chemicals Agency, amending Directive 1999/45/EC and repealing Council Regulation (EEC) No 793/93 and Commission Regulation (EC) No 1488/94 as well as Council Directive 76/769/EEC and Commission Directives 91/155/EEC, 93/67/EEC, 93/105/EC and 2000/21/EC.
REACH certification is the EU REGULATION concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals. Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals is a chemical regulation system established by the European Union and implemented on June 1, 2007.
The new EU chemicals policy, REACH (Registration, evaluation and authorisation of chemicals), aims to provide a high level of protection for human health and the environment, while promoting innovation in green chemicals.
Regulation (EC)No 1907/2006 of 18 December 2006 on the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals, Directive 2006/121/EC of the European Parliament of 18 December 2006 amending Commission Directive 67/548/EEC (on classification, packaging and labelling of hazardous substances) was published in the Official Journal on 30 December 2006.
REACH, which will come into effect on 1 June 2007, will replace nearly 40 existing EU regulations and directives and provide a simple system to manage chemicals in a better way.
