Brazilian ANATEL certification is a certification for telecommunications products.
Anatel certification is divided into mandatory and voluntary certification. The approval procedure is the same for both domestic and foreign products. If the product is subject to compulsory certification, the test results and reports of the product must be consistent with the rules and regulations adopted by ANATEL. The product needs to obtain the authorization certificate issued by ANATEL before it is put into use.

Terminal equipment connected to a fixed switching Telephone service (FSTS) network via an endpoint;
Equipment connecting private telecommunications networks to FSTS networks;
Devices connected to the FSTS network for the purpose of providing value-added services.

Any equipment that uses a radio not covered by Type I, such as low-voltage devices, unauthorized equipment, and antennas.

Any equipment not covered by Type I or II that is regulated by ANATEL's rules and regulations.
< Forensics requirements
All products in ANATEL's published list require certification;
The certificate/authorization holder (importer, manufacturer) must be legally recognized in Brazil;
Certificates of type I are valid until cancelled, and certificates of the other two types are valid for two years;
Manuals, installation guides and warning signs must be in Portuguese. Other documents can be in English;
The product must have an identification plate containing the following information: ANATEL logo certification number (bar code); Name of the manufacturer; Year of manufacture; Model number; Serial number; The distributor's registration number.
