Fireproof material

Detection service / British Standard: BS476-6 - Flame retardant test of building materials, fire test

The following content will be explained to the flame retardant and fire test standard BS 476-6 for building materials: -- CE certification for construction machinery

& Auml; BS 476-6 Fire resistance test for building materials - Standard Name:

& uuml; BS476-6: Fire Tests on Building materials and structures – Method of test for fire propagation for products

& uuml; BS476-6: Fire Retardant and Fire Testing of Building Materials and building Elements Test method for Flame propagation of products

& Auml; BS 476-6 Flame retardant and Fire testing of building materials - Overview of the standard:

BS 476-6 test results are expressed as flame propagation index to provide the measurement of flame generation of flat materials. BS 476-6 is mainly used to evaluate the flame retardant and fire resistance of indoor wall materials and ceiling accessories

& Auml; BS 476-6 Flame retardant and Fire testing of building materials - Standard Scope of Application:

& uuml; Interior wall material

& uuml; Insulation material

& uuml; Ceiling material

& Auml; BS 476-6 Flame retardant and fire test of building materials - Standard Analysis:

The ignition source of this method is 2 electric heaters and 1 tube burner. The combustion tube of the device is equipped with a chimney, and a thermocouple is installed in the chimney to measure the flue gas temperature. The power of the electric heater is adjustable and it is 45mm away from the vertically placed sample. The pipe diameter of the pipe burner is 9mm, there are 14 nozzles, the inner diameter of the nozzle is 1.5mm, and the center distance of each two mouths is 12.5mm. Apply a blowtorch flame 25mm above the bottom of the exposed surface of the specimen.

In order to evaluate the flame propagation performance of the tested material, the difference between temperature and room temperature in the chimney is continuously recorded with a thermocouple, and the obtained results (the relationship curve between temperature difference and time) are compared with the calibration curve.

Calculate the flame propagation index i value: the higher the I value, the lower the flame retardancy of the material.
