Construction machinery CE certification institution to understand it!
From the certification point of view, the export of EU electrical certification generally has two kinds of CE and GS. CE is a mandatory certification, electrical products need to meet the low voltage LVD directive and electromagnetic compatibility EMC directive, and the compliance of the two directives is verified by the relevant safety regulations and electromagnetic compatibility standards; Electrical products conform to the two instructions, can play on < a href = "http://www.globalgd.com/cerenzhengbiaozhun/" > < strong > CE mark < / strong > < / a >, free circulation in the European market. GS belongs to the voluntary certification in Germany, and electrical products are marked with the GS mark, which in addition to complying with the EU LVD and EMC directives, must also comply with the relevant German EK1 resolution. Although GS certification is optional, it is highly recognized in the European Union, so foreign customers generally require products to have two certifications at the same time. At the same time, when enterprises conduct product certification in testing institutions, because the CE and GS certification is based on the same basis before, it is often “ Give one for one ” . Since the formal implementation of the resolution, the basis for the two types of certification will no longer be the same, and GS certification puts forward more demanding power cord requirements.
From the perspective of safety standards, hair straighteners exported to the EU must comply with EN 60335-1 and EN 60335-2-23 (both included in the LVD Directive). According to the standard, if the product's power cord can reach metal parts that have a temperature rise of more than 130K(about 155 ° C) during the heat test, ordinary PVC power cords cannot be used. For hair straightener products, due to functional requirements, the heating plate temperature during use is generally 180 ~ 210℃, export enterprises often use ceramic heating plate instead of metal aluminum plate, avoiding “ Metal parts ” Requirements, so that a lower cost of ordinary PVC power cord can be used. The new resolution NO 479-10 will also include ceramic plates in the requirements and no longer exempt, so hair straighteners or similar appliances using ceramic plates can not use ordinary PVC wire.
Therefore, Xingyuantest suggests that relevant export enterprises: first, as soon as possible to negotiate with customers to deal with matters. For exported products, communicate with customers in advance to determine corrective measures, and the customer can re-paste the nameplate with the GS logo removed, or replace the PVC wire with rubber wire. Second, take the initiative to contact the certification body for testing matters. If the customer requires the product to pass the GS certification, it should contact the certification body as soon as possible to carry out a difference test on the replacement power cord and re-obtain the certificate. Third, do a good job of contract review. According to the requirements of the resolution, the power cord of the hair straightener will be replaced by the original 0.5mm2 PVC wire to 0.75mm2 rubber wire, and the cost of the power cord will also increase from the original 2 yuan/piece to 4 yuan/piece. When signing a new contract with EU customers, do a good job of contract review (such as certification mark, power cord selection) according to the resolution to avoid trade losses caused by the contract and the resolution.
