Electric bicycle CE certification Bicycle CE certification Electric vehicle EN15194 certification
Scope of Application:
      Electric vehicle EN15194:2009 certification range continuous working power does not exceed 0.25kW;
      Equipped with a battery up to 48V and a charger with an input voltage of 230Va.c.
      A few days ago, the European Technical Committee on bicycles TC333 discussed in Brussels the final draft of the CEN electric bicycle standard, the standard number is EN15194, referred to as EPACs, that is: electric-assisted two-wheeled vehicles. EN15194:2009 Cycles - Electrically power assisted cycles -EPAC Bicycles is basically completed. The development of the new safety standard EN15194 for electric assisted bicycles (EPAC) was basically completed in mid-November 2008. The standard range includes: DC voltage shall not be higher than 48V; Maximum continuous rated power of 250W; When the speed reaches 25 kilometers per hour, the output is gradually reduced and finally cut off. It is optimistic that the new standard will come into effect in July 2009.
      The new safety standards for electric assisted bicycles (EPAC) are far more complex than the current CEN standards for conventional bicycles. The birth of the new standard is closely related to electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards.
      EMC standards have been applied to all types of electronic devices and vehicles in Europe, such as cars, motorcycles and motorized scooters. The EMC EMC standard is designed to ensure the safety of people who use hearing AIDS or pacemakers while driving a car or riding an electric bicycle, making it clear that the electromagnetic pulse generated from the electronic components of the vehicle cannot interfere with the hearing AIDS and pacemakers they use. Once vehicles containing electronic components have passed the EMC test, they will be affixed with the CE mark. All electric bikes currently on the market (with pedal function) are subject to EMC testing. Electric bicycles and electronic components with pedal function will be tested in accordance with the new EN15194 EPACs safety standard, as well as cars, motorcycles and motorized bicycles. The EPACs test is different from the CEN test. Manufacturers can do their own CEN testing, but in order to meet EPACs/EMC standards, the entire system must be tested and tested again after each minor adjustment.
      The new safety standard for electrically-assisted two-wheelers was published in the Official EU Journal and will align with the EU Safety Directive, “ The manufacturer has an obligation to ensure the safety of the products it supplies for sale on the market. . What is “ The market ” EN15194 refers to the 25 member States of the European Union plus Romania and four EFTA countries.
      Bicycle export to the European Union countries, the need for CE certification, the implementation of the European Union's bicycle standards, Xingyuan reminds the majority of relevant export enterprises to pay attention.
      The four CEN cycling safety standards published by the European Committee for Standardization on 22 July 2006: EN14764 (municipal and estate vehicles), EN14766 (mountain bikes), EN14781 (racing cars), EN14782“ EN14765 (Baby carriage) has been implemented since December 1, 2006. According to the EU Safety Directive 2001/95/EC, manufacturers must provide safe products to the market. The EU Safety Directive also stipulates that a product is assumed to be safe if its manufacturer uses EU standards and its safety performance levels are covered by these standards. Xingyuan suggested that manufacturers test the new standard through testing institutions. Recently, some export enterprises are required to provide corresponding test reports when shipping. Xingyuan can make reports that meet the requirements of the European Union and solve the problem of export certification for manufacturers.
      At present, there are five CEN standards for bicycles in operation:
      EN14764 (City and long distance cycling)
      EN14765 (Stroller)
      EN17766 (Mountain bike)
      EN14781 (Race bike)
      EN14872 (Bicycle accessories - hanger
